The Eleven Mile State Park Redevelopment Master Plan represents the first round of a new planning process developed specifically for CPW. Eleven Mile State Park in Lake George is a 7,662-acre park established in 1970 that surrounds the 3,405-acre, 5.5 mile long Eleven Mile Reservoir.

Design Concepts prepared the Redevelopment Master Plans for this State Park, that included comprehensive plans to help guide redevelopment from the original park layouts. Designs were developed to meet new needs and improve efficiency in day-to-day Park operations. The plans identify land use decisions to help protect, manage, and enhance existing natural resources (flora, fauna, and geological landforms) and guide the overall layout, circulation and development of the parks’ infrastructure, facilities, and recreational opportunities to maximize the visitor’s experience in a sustainable manner.

SCOPE OF WORK

Developed a 20-year Redevelopment Master Plan document that included detailed graphic plans of:

  • Expanded Administration/Visitor Center

  • Upgraded Maintenance Shop Complex

  • Upgraded Amphitheater

  • Upgraded Campsites to meet Current Standards with Full Hook-ups

  • Addressed Campground Storm Drainage

  • Installed Shade/Wind Shelters, upgraded Restrooms

  • Additional Cabins/Yurts

  • Provided Accessible Fishing Day Use and Group Picnic Facilities

  • Provided Additional Trails, Boardwalk and Trail Signage

  • Addressed Wastewater Treatment and Potable Water Quality
