Irrigation Designer/Draftsperson (1-3 years)

We’re looking for a special new team member to join our firm! Design Concepts is seeking a talented and knowledgeable Irrigation Designer/Draftsperson to join our studio environment and to complement our firm.

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and personable individual with 1-3 years of irrigation design experience.

Required skills include:

Possess a strong understanding of irrigation design principles, irrigation technical specifications, and installation methods
Able to implement irrigation design principles supporting efficiency and water conservation
Familiarity with current irrigation products from major manufacturers including irrigation controllers (2-wire and conventional), heads and nozzles, small pump stations, pipe material, and drip irrigation, as well as knowledge of Colorado plant water requirements.
Willingness to stay current, learn and grow in irrigation product knowledge and grow within the industry
Willingness to learn and follow jurisdictional agency's standards and be capable of preparing submittals and facilitating their review process on behalf of the Client.
Meet with Clients to facilitate project work and gather Client's material preferences
Prepare schematic design, design development, and construction documents for irrigation scope
Willingness to perform site visits during design and construction
Work directly with contractors during construction to resolve issues, inspect installations and provide detailed written reports.
High level of attention to quality and detail and ability to multitask projects while maintaining good work productivity
Strong graphic and technical computer skills in AutoCAD. Knowledge of LandFX is preferred
Minimum H.S. diploma
Certification Irrigation Designer (CID) by the Irrigation Association is a plus

The ideal candidate will be dedicated and motivated to excel and can work independently yet collaboratively within our team environment.

Outdoor Classrooms: Now More Than Ever

This past year, schools all over the country were forced to allow fewer students inside and keep classes physically separate from each other, making their outside spaces a hot commodity. In many cases schools had to scramble to figure out ways to make this happen with little time to plan. We propose that to better equip schools for the future, more time, funding, and attention is needed to design these outdoor learning environments in ways students, teachers and the neighboring community can enjoy throughout the year.

Two Hunters Park: A Tribute to Mark Martinez and Joey Irwin

Parks all around the world are known for igniting emotions of hope, peace, and optimism. Two Hunters Park, a commemorative park honoring the lives of Mark Martinez and Joey Irwin of Firestone, CO is no exception.

Helping Our Community Grow

We worked alongside these supporters for several years with continuing development on Lafayette Elementary’s garden as well as their three playgrounds. Recently, we began replacing raised flower beds in areas being reestablished.

Visual Simulations Help Paint The Picture

We created photo simulations that helped decision makers study a proposed solar farm in the Aspen valley. Having a clear understanding of what the solar panels would look like helped them decide to approve the project.
