The Boyd Lake Redevelopment Master Plan represents the first round of a new planning process developed specifically for CPW. Boyd Lake State Park in Loveland was established in 1965 as a State Recreation Area. The lake’s 1,700 surface-acres offer all types of water recreation and the 321 land acres offer camping and other outdoor activities.

Design Concepts prepared the Redevelopment Master Plan for this State Park, that included comprehensive plans to help guide redevelopment from the original park layouts. Designs were developed to meet new needs and improve efficiency in day-to-day Park operations. The plans identify land use decisions to help protect, manage, and enhance existing natural resources (flora, fauna, and geological landforms) and guide the overall layout, circulation and development of the parks’ infrastructure, facilities, and recreational opportunities to maximize the visitor’s experience in a sustainable manner.

SCOPE OF WORK

Developed a 20-year Redevelopment Master Plan document that included detailed graphic plans of:

  • Park Entrance and Visitor Center

  • Beach Area

  • Marina Area

  • Extended Boat Ramp

  • Reconfigured ANS Inspection

  • Group Picnic areas and Outdoor Classroom Facilities

  • Campground expansion with full hook-ups

  • Upgraded Utilities and pavements

  • Reconfigured roadways and parking

    • Estimate costs from budgeting, prioritization, and phasing

    • Financial Assessment that includes operations and generated revenue opportunities
