A New School For Modern Learning

After much planning and design over the past year and a half, Chinook Trail Middle School opens its doors to the first generation of students at the school. It’s a new school for Academy District 20 in Colorado Springs. Working with RTA Architects and MOA Architects, this 1250,000 square foot building implements energy efficient materials offering students a modern educational environment focused on learning for 1,000 students.

The site features a full slue of amenities for these middle schoolers including a track and field facility, baseball field, outdoor classrooms, patios extending classrooms to the outdoors, gathering spaces and sustainable landscape material. The west side of the site provides a strong connection to the existing elementary school completing the K-8 campus.
